Game Preview: MAG (Ps3)

The past few days I’ve been playing MAG a few hours every day. The closed beta has given me the opportunity to finally find an answer to the question: is it fun to join a team consisting of 128 players and fight another team, also consisting of 128 players? Unfortunately, it is not as much fun as I hoped it would be. There’s just no way 128 strangers are going to cooperate, and the lack of teamwork pretty much messes up MAG’s unique feature, degrading it to an “ordinary” shooter.

(Very) short look into Game Year 2009

Together with Thom Stokkel I wrote a short (much too short, indeed) “preview” of some of the stuff 2009 will have in store for gamers. Among more Indie-games and mobile gaming are interesting titles such as Afro Samurai (which turned out to be mediocre at best), Alan Wake and StarCraft II.
